radiating chapels

A definition of radiating chapels might be considered incomplete without reference to the famous St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, which is one of the most famous ones in the world. There are several others, including the Basilica of San Vitale, San Diego’s historic Old Town Hall, and the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Maria de Los Angeles. All these have one thing in common: they are involved with treating patients suffering from cardiac and/or respiratory ailments with a focus on using medical light sources as part of their therapeutic work. Their main purpose is to alleviate pain and discomfort caused by conditions such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and other diseases of the respiratory system.

Roman Catholic Church (RCC)

As mentioned above, some of these institutions are part of the religious order called the Roman Catholic Church (RCC). Even though the RCC is not a denomination within the wider Church, it claims the status of an association devoted to spreading the faith. While most hospitals and physicians’ clinics practice what is known as “cardiac care”, the only hospital within the RCC that practices “cardiac care” is the Baltimore City Medical Center, whose homepage is located in the basement of the church. The Baltimore City Medical Center also happens to be one of the busiest hospitals in Maryland, with its cardiac rehabilitation center located on the grounds. One of the services the hospital provides is medical lighting, which is highlighted in part of its website.

Provision Of Respite

One of the types of medical services offered by the hospitals and clinics run by the RCC is the provision of respite. Hospitals in Baltimore are bound by a contract with the Maryland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) to provide respite to animals suffering from certain illnesses or injuries. Among the animal diseases treated by the Baltimore RCC include cancer, cardiomyopathy, and renal failure. As was stated above, some of these conditions are treated by the Baltimore City Medical Center through its cardiac rehabilitation center. In addition, the hospice at the Baltimore Marriott is also one of the RCC’s ambulatory branches.

Events Of The Cathedral

Another way that the residents at the RCC benefit from the charity work of the charitable organizations is by volunteering to help out with the events of the cathedral. Among the events in which the help of volunteers is most needed are the Thanksgiving fundraising dinners and the Saint Valentine’s Day concerts. In addition, the residents of the Baltimore area are involved in many other charity events, such as the “iture Walk” every year. The residents of the eastern end of the city to get to participate in this yearly event by walking down an aisle to the tune of “Silent Night”.
